Rabbinical College Ohr Yisroel strives totemper the intense learning schedule with various outlets and activities, offering the students an opportunity tounwind. The Yeshiva defines its purpose as teaching studentsTorah learning skills in order to nurture creative scholarshipand provide the community with Talmudists, scholars, andwell educated laymen. We identify the following specific missionelements: 1. Train students in the study and analyticalstudy of the classic texts of Judaism. Foster reasoningskills, proficiency in textual analysis, the capacity forlegal analysis, and deftness in the application of advancedlogic to techniques of argumentation. 2. Enable studentsto gain knowledge and skills for service careers as Yeshivateachers, educators, and lecturers, in a wide range of formats. 3. Provide students with the education for pursuing advanced rabbinic degrees that will develop into higher degreesin teaching or practical rabbinics. 4.
